The TV Forum Watch thread p6+

Anonymous

Actually Bail I think you will find I registered here about a moth ago - just after I registered on TV Forum.

There has just been no other reason to post here until now. Most the threads are just boring on here - and the two other forums here on Metropol 24/7 are just plain stupid!

Probably because some fool was having a pop at poor Benny and upsetting him with pictures of his childhood.

By the way, may I join please? Will a cheese and onion pasty do, until I can find a reasonably valuable cake?

(I'm in a talkative mood tonight, so you've been warned.)

I think his childhood pictures were upsetting to most people. *Hopes my childhood pictures haven't leaked out onto the net. I use to be blonde believe it or not! Well you might...*

I've bought puffs. Butter puffs. They are quite messy which I suppose is just right for TV Forum, but I don't particularly wish to be a member of any religion, cult, or witch hunt. So please don't enroll me on any training course which involves me having to be placed into an industrial protective suit and safety goggles, and shrieking at people. I'm a coward and go to pieces if something slightly untoward happens on any forum.

Right, I would like to say that I thought the "Benny Shat" thread was most excellent, and I will not have people take the mickey out of poor Mr. Shats for being so fabulous in all that he does on his web-sty. Secondly, in the words of young Mr. Grace, I think you're all doing very well!

And finally... I know y'all here talking about the strange goblins of the telly forum, but what does TV Forum Watch actually do? And is there an official list of members to look out for apart from the member list?

The TV Forum watch do just that, watch tv forum and catch and warn various weirdos. Benefits of being a member include cash in times of need and annual days out to Skegness.

Oooo! Again, this takes me back to my childhood. I spent a week at Skegness with one of my bitches when it was just a grotty old caravan park with a monorail - I have evidence in the form of photographs! I take the industrial-strength clothing back, count me in!

I wont really be needing any money at the moment, but you're quite welcome to pay for my shopping on Friday.

The members I think we need to watch are Bail, because he is in actual fact the cartoon character "Dilbert", that surely cannot be a good thing. Another member we need to look out for is Martin Anderson. I worry, you know. I can see the newspapers and milk bottles building up outside his house now. I personally hope he returns to the mocks forum soon.

And something I'd personally like to see a return of is Adam's signature - "Lee Seeman thinks he is Will Young". There is a great story behind that (far too boring for here), and although I feel slightly bad about what I did to the poor soul, it was one of my happiest days.

So anyway, you're the police of the internet world, or at least the TV Forum part of it? I don't think I want to actually be known as a policeman, I still feel like a new member and would probably do more harm than good. For a start I'd ramble on about things a little too much... maybe I could operate as a sort of tear gas, but instead of irritating the eyes, I irritate the mind with endless babble.

I almost think, and I know this has been mentioned loads of time before, two or three members with a bit of experience (maybe who have been there from the beginning) should be given little powers to help keep the forum clean of gremlins. Pausing could be one, the ability to pause a thread to stop members posting in it until a moderator can come along and sort things. The ability to pause a member's account so they can't post, but can view, until a mod can sort it.

That's enough from me I think! I'll put my request to be Mr. Tear Gas in writing and send it to whoever is in charge within the next 5 days. Or whatever. Oh bugger it, I'm off to bed. Night!

That involves going through Boston, does it not?

Perhaps I should withdraw my request then.

Golly! You are talkative Mr.Lee. Anyway, gentleman (stands up) there is a matter which I would like to discuss with you all.

(Passed round some scones and a few doily’s.)

Topic 1] I must admit I find the moderation on TV Forum recently rather OTT, limiting all discussion presentation only. Namely RTS's closed thread about a recent tragedy. I have yet to come across any forums without a general section, I know this is meant to be TVF's "General Chat" but not everyone who is there is here.

Surely "In the News" is exactly that, discussing what’s in the news, if it was presentation only surely just "The News Section" would be enough. It all seems rather odd and rather unjustified.
