However, as a self-employed man whose sole opportunity to meet women is on nights out, and whose friends don't have a ready access to single women who are suitable for me, what choice do I have?

I visited Newcastle, and
it's completely true. At first I though they were calling me "a chick" but that got sorted out in the end.
