How can I go wrong?

Woo.

I got mine today. I love it so much and really pleased with my Vodafone deal. So much to discover though as I went from quite an old skool phone to something I'm not sure I can handle yet.

I did grow attached to my old Sony Ericsson phone though and it's kinda odd going from using it constantly to now seeing it tossed aside, sitting looking at me all sad with "Inactive SIM" on the screen.

I got that yesterday too - any idea what it was for?

Presumably it was to make us feel loved. And to update the version number :)

Good enough for me, although it briefly interrupted my Adam and Joe time yesterday!

What's your data allowance for this phone Mr Scrooge (and everyone else)?

I've signed up for 600mins unlimited texts and 500mb data for £30. Will this be a lot of data (bearing in mind browsing the net on the move is a new thing for me).

I suppose I can add a bundle for extra, but it would be good to get an idea from others.

I think that the tmobile fair usage limit is 1GB, which should be more than adequate for mobile usage!

Edit: just realised I didn't answer your question...
I'd have thought that 500MB is also adequate for mobile browsing too. In my experience so far streaming video on the phone while on the move is going to be pretty limited as data connections come and go, and that is where most bandwidth will go.

This was a bit of a concern for me too. When I was upgrading over the phone they kept saying "Unlimited data" so I asked the guy what that meant and it is really 500MB with a fair use policy. I was happy to accept this based on the fact the he said that if you exceed it, you won't automatically be charged out-of-bundle costs - but they reserve the right to call you up if you get silly with it.

There's a note on the Vodafone support forum

Thanks guys - I suppose my first bill will show usage, so I'll try to gauge how much I get through from that.

I'm *super* excited.

You should be excited. I love it, although it struggles a wee bit with finding Edinburgh weather sometimes.

Also, can any owners recommend a skin/case for the Desire. I wasn't going to bother - but then I dropped it in a car park yesterday, resulting in me falling to my knees screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Eastenders-stylee. I don't want to suffer those fraught emotions again in a hurry.
