I really hate that guy.
"Oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why do people have to upload video in a relatively decent quality and size to YouTube on their own when they could send us the tapes, wait a few months for us to begin to transcode it and someday a year later have it postage stamp sized using a legacy codec nobody even uses anymore through us? We don't really have to use our CMS anymore so few people come now! Where will my ego website (with witty editorial) go? Researchers won't come to me anymore looking for material, don't take away my only means by which to live."Netizen wrote:http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/show ... p?t=631225
ROFL.YouTube is the bane of our life on the Ark. People are not just stealing our clips but are directly uploading their own material instead of letting us have it so we can present it in better quality RealMedia. In particular, while the amount of archive BBC/ITV Schools material has flourished on YouTube, we've found it difficult to locate additional footage for our archives.
Wouldn't want the commoners getting hold of anything in high resolutionHymagumba wrote:I love how the pompous beurocracy of TV ark prevents them from moving away from low res real clips
I must admit, the Christmas highlights for me are mostly media related - adverts, films, music, etc. Plus having a Christmas tree and decorations is exciting too, even if the only present I get nowadays is cash and the odd bottle of Lynx Africa from an aunt I wouldn't recognise if I passed her in the street. But to pinpoint the BBC One and BBC2 idents as your only highlight of Christmas is just.. pathetic. There is something seriously wrong in this guy's head if the only thing he can find joy in at Christmas time is television idents. FFS, broaden your horizons a bit!GH Online
The highlight of Christmas for me are the BBC1 and BBC2 idents. But since 2002 there has been a recycling policy for both, and I'm not hopeful of BBC1 delivering something new this year especially with a new controller in charge.
I hope they introduce one in the form of two sexy men scantily dressed as santa getting off with each other.Chie wrote: Anyway, I hope the BBC aren't planning on introducing a new ident this Christmas. He's been a naughty brat all year and doesn't deserve them.
If the sole thing in your sad little life which you do to some degree of competence is talking about television presentation, it probably would be the centre of your Christmas period. An ident is not just for Christmas.Chie wrote:http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/show ... stcount=80
