Indeed, I'm trying to work out why it's not working properly over at TVF though, this was more to check the code, it appears it's just TVF fucking it up for some reason. I'm getting this with a gap:

that's because of the way tvf's sig system works compared to ours...

Code: Select all

<a href="http://www.metropol247.co.uk/" class="postlink"><img src="http://meanwhile.metropol247.co.uk/red" alt="Image" /></a><a href="http://www.ashfish.net/" class="postlink"><img src="http://www.ashfish.net/metrofish.gif" alt="Image" /></a>

Code: Select all

<a href="http://www.metropol247.co.uk/" target="_blank" class="extlink">
<img src="http://meanwhile.metropol247.co.uk/red" border="0" />
</a>

<a href="http://www.ashfish.net/" target="_blank" class="extlink">
<img src="http://www.ashfish.net/metrofish.gif" border="0" />
</a>
the _ is being generated by the line break being read as a space and then underlined due to it being a link. as we don't have the line break its not an issue

it's likely that you could fix it by only having the one link surrounding them both but that would defeat the point of the way you've coded it.

I loove the new Metropol sig.

Just need to think of an original way of incorporating the normal sig in. I like a challenge.

I could sacrifice that for aesthetical reasons, however, it doesn't seem to work either. Still getting the small dash.

In other news, is anyone else having trouble posting here tonight? It seems to hang on the page after posting, not fully loading, or goes to a "connection failed" message, I'm not having trouble with any other sites.

I suspect there might be two small problems with ashley b's proposed signature. It would be two images, and the combined width would be greater than 300px. It would thus break TVF's signature rules. :(

interesting to note the term "use of member pictures" in those rules. I wonder if that was added after the campaigns against David H and such like, or whether Luxton moaned because he's too important to be mocked.

I don't think those rules are actually enforced are they? I mean just a quick look through post I found this:

which has been in use for ages and quite clearly over the max width.

Well, I know I've had signature images removed because of those rules (until then, I didn't know they existed), but I don't know how often they're checked.

apparently its an automated program that checks. Perhaps it only looks for >60high AND >350wide which would exclude that as its not very tall.

Hyma, yesterday you seemed to have fixed the problem of the timestamp drifting outside the edge of the new signature image, but today it appears to have reverted to the original version. :?
