The Walmart sunburst seems have vanished from Asda's logo in adverts run over the last week or two. Have they got rid of it?
They've now disappeared from their social media profile pictures. I also recently saw a picture of a new product in their 'great shape' range featuring a sun-less Asda logo too. Pretty pointless ditching them, then again it was pretty pointless putting them there in the first place - but at least it brightened up a rather dull logo.
Can confirm, they just changed the packaging on the pasta salads (and I think discontinued the £2 ones, grr) and no more sunburst. So I was right, they've ditched it.
You're right that it was pointless making the change in the first place. They must've been too afraid of a backlash to fully rebrand under Walmart's logo, so they made a half-arsed attempt at combining them that for some reason just hasn't worked.

I think JAS84's salad pot is a far stronger source than any website.

They seem to be stuck in a constant cycle of promoting their American ownership before removing all trace. I'm surprised they've not changed their name to Walsda for a week yet.

Yes, the Walmart sunburst seems to have set... the new Asda Farm Stores range has no sunburst and a return to comic sans!!!!
The packaging is not appealing either.

Design is mince!

How many of us can remember the days when Farm Stores used to be the name for what became Smart Price?

Who are these idiots who are telling them that fake farm shop branding is appealing to customers? We know it's not a farm shop, it's Asda. It just looks tacky.

It doesn't help that it feels like the packaging was designed 25 years ago. Compare it with the equivalent Tesco farm style packaging, and it's like night and day.

I don't understand it, the Sunburst linked nicely to parent without being overly obvious, in the way they've tried to force the brand in the past and added some much needed character to the Asda logo.

It was a pointless link though. It's not like the Unilever heart and it's not as if it actually unifies their branding.

Just to muddy the waters around the Asda logo here is the packaging for quite a few smart price products seen in store today. Looks like the pre 1985 logo
