Firstly, I would like to praise Channel 4 for bringing back its old idents to celebrate the channel's 25th anniversary on 02 November 2007. It was great to see these again and good to see the channel deviate from its usual on-screen pres elements to mark the occasion.

However, with this in mind, I would like to challenge the fact that Channel 4 has not had Christmas idents since 2003, when it always used to do so. It has been very disappointing tuning into C4 the last three Christmas Days, only to find the usual tower blocks, street markets, and hay bales introducing programmes when most other channels have a festive ident symbol in place of their usual ones. Could you please explain why this is the case? I fear there may be a hidden PC agenda behind this, of the kind which has seen local councils rebrand Christmas as "Winterval" or other ludicrous "non-offensive" names. Now that C4 has shown it CAN deviate from its usual on-screen look for a special occasion (ie. its birthday), I would be very interested to know why Christmas is not afforded the same treatment.

One further issue regarding the 25th anniversary celebrations - I notice that the iconic Channel 4 test card, once the image most associated with the channel in its early days, does not appear either on the Channel 4 at 25 website nor in any of the TV promotions. Is there a reason for this?

Well, it's political correctness gone MAD! They CLEARLY have an anti-christmas agenda what with running christmas-based programmes WITHOUT idents to match!

I changed my Email on my TVF profile to my MSN one (rather than my AOL one) because I am changing ISPs (perhaps) - now I am unable to log-in to TVF.

Is it me, or is it becoming more and more possible that due to their similarly anal inane temperaments Simon IS Tumble Tower?

i don't think tvf allows MSN email does it?

Well if that's the case they should make that clear in the profile section. I've sent an email to Asa but not had a reply.

Off-hand Hotmail and Yahoo email addresses aren't allowed during registration, not sure if it checks when editing profile. It's worth checking your Junk Mail folder, as when you change email address a validation email is sent out and the link in the email must be click on to re-activate your account.

Thank you Charlie. There was indeed an Email in my junk folder! The account is active once again!

Please tell me G4's wrong about safe areas.

Why? There's strict safe areas to adhere to no matter what type of TV you're mocking for. And besides, it looks better to keep it in the middle instead of right up to the edge.

Are not G4 and Slagathor one and the same person?

The "Fourums" promoted by the latter appear to be sadministered by the former, if I'm not mistaken.
