Why do I find it hard to disagree with that sentiment?

Me too.

I have a soft spot for Scotland's Jackie Bird, others seem to love the blessed Moira.

But when these trolls do *nothing* but obsess on the clothing, schooling, airtime and even partners of presenters then I start to feel uncomfortable.

With the best will in the world I find it difficult to perceive this behaviour as normal (whatever normal is on a presentation forum), and in fact it strikes me as particularly unhealthy. I don't think the Barry George comment is overstating it.

Why would winifred come back to repeat her behaviour immediately after being banned? Does it not strike you as odd that she doesn't understand that if she is not welcome in a community then there is no point in being there?

Perhaps I should locate her at Edinburgh Uni and ask these questions myself.
one thing that is entirely possible, is somebody is doing it on purpose, just because of the reaction is has recieved. as a troll, winifred has been one of the most successful of recent times - it has achieved what every good troll sets out to do, and that is to get a response.

Sorry kids there's no clique.

The "clique" was invented by the weak members who sometimes couldn't take a bit of criticism or felt wronged by a member, as I believe johnnyboy has already pointed out.

There are however a lot of forum members who enjoy banter with each other and share similar points of views as well as senses of humour so will naturally get on very well, and will often be to seen to back each other up. That's all.

If there IS a clique - why am I not in it? Is it because I keep asking if I can touch your hair? Is that it?

Perhaps unsurprisingly, I agree wholeheartedly with jb and Ison's comments regaring this "clique".

It's actually quite an offensive accusation to sling Katherine - and I name you because you are the most vocal on the subject.

I've been part of this collective for 4 years. Over the passage of time I have become accustomed to the personalities, opinions and humour of many of the longest standing members. Often I can anticipate responses from some of them, and indeed miss them when they are not present.

Like it or not Katherine, you are as big a part of this supposed "clique" as anyone else. We know you, you know us. The fact that some of us agree about a range of issues whilst others do not is irrelevant.

It's utterly specious to conclude that some members have formed a "gang" simply because they (albeit collectively) don't suffer fools gladly.

There are bullies out there in the world. I am not one of them. I'm a particularly nice person, if I say so myself. I've found the same to be true of Ison, jb, tvmercia, Square Eyes, Jamez, DAS, Hymagumba... and that list is not complete.

I like you too Katherine, very much. Sometimes however I am snappy, cold, abrasive and dismissive. Ask my mother.

This doesn't mean you are being bullied or picked on. It could be that you perceive it as such, and that is regrettable.

Let's have no more talk of cliques. Our group of friendship is pretty much open to anyone who doesn't behave like an idiot.

You have missed the point.

Read it again.

I think we should have Clinique, not clique. Then we can be beautiful and segregationist.

I think we should have Clinque, not clique. Then we can be beautiful and segregationist.
I believe a clique to be a gathering of people who share the same aims. Thus this entire forum is a clique. However I think "clique" is being misread as 'friendship', if a group of users share the same sense of humour and are seen as "a gang" then so what, it's the same in life.

However the PC brigade would love for everyone to get along, hold hand with your neighbours etc.. it ain't happening. So what if your not part of this group.. big deal.. you prob not missing much as you wouldn't fit in with the rest of them anyway.. thus why you ain't part of it :D

Clinque is that like Dimonque on QVC? ;)
