The Tesco Express I use with self service, you have to ask the cashier to give you a bag. An interesting quirk is that the security guard is allowed to go into the staff interface if there's a problem with the scales or if a customer wants to remove a product.

Same at my local. Also the security guard at mine kinda you up and down and decides whether you're a thief or not as soon as you've walked through the door.

I remember once paying for my goods, going outside the shop to sort myself out and then two mins later getting called back in accused of theft. Showed them my receipt and all was good, but why would I wait outside a shop if I was a thief?

We've just had a new Sainsburys Local open in Dundee. Generally very pleasant however the checkout layout is infuriating. There is a kiosk, with three manned tills, and a bank of six self scans next to it, with a shared queue entrance. Pretty normal so far. However the self scan is a little pen with only one entrance and exit, which makes it very uncomfortable to use as there's always someone looming right over you.

Tesco Expresses do this far better as the payment area is more open and the kiosk and self scans at the same level with cupboards extending the whole way. For this particular branch I think the Tesco Express L shape would work well, with the self scans down the windows leading back to the door.

But you're right, it's pretty shoddy branding. They can't seem to decide whether the 'plus' lozenge goes next to 'Clubcard' or the entire stacked 'Tesco Clubcard' bit.

Yes, she's posted a new Instagram since then clarifying that she's upset the ad didn't have a more prominent mention of the Women's Aid charity. Before that it looked as though she was completely unaware of her involvement in the ad.

The campaign is shockingly bad. It looks like it was done by school kids. I have no idea what its meant to be.

The whole Clubcard Plus thing appears to be an attempt to get the home delivery customers back into the shops.

I got mildly excited when I first realised that for £7.99 a month I could potentially get £30.00 discount a month from two £150.00 shops.

I then read the small print and discovered that you only get the discount on shops you do in store. Home delivery is excluded.

I'm damned if I'm actually going into a shop, where I'd have to mix with all those smelly customers.

No thanks, Tesco, you can stick your Clubcard Plus where the sun doesn't shine.

I'm glad you pointed that out - I managed to miss that caveat in both my Clubcard statement and a flyer from the shop. We do our big shop online not to avoid other people, but for the more practical reason that we don't have a car.

Just had a look at the FAQ on the website. One of the answers includes "Full details of terms and conditions can be found on the Clubcard Plus website (tesco.com/clubcard/clubcard-plus)."
Which seems amateur - it's not a link; the URL irks me for having the word 'clubcard' twice; and it's the page I'm already on, dammut.
