I wonder if unlocking an iPhone will also unlock tethering restrctions.
I'm pretty sure that Orange do a £5 per month data bolt on, but I'd better look into it. That would keep the costs appropriate.
Presumably things like "visual mail" wouldn't be enabled, as that's chargeable, right?

Does anyone use voicemail these days, didn't that die out in the 90s along with fax machines?

You're wrong, cdd. Everyone I know uses voicemail. Why wouldn't they? It's way less hassle than calling someone back if it's a trivial message!

Hmm. It's possible I don't get voicemails because I turned the thing off.
Nevertheless I stand by my above comment! And still say text messages are easier. Wordy voicemail message are a bore and you have to play them five times get the person's bloody number which they've doubtless muffled.

The distinction is that you can see your messages listed on an iPhone and jump to the specific one you want to hear.
Which doesn't seem like something I'd be interested in using. I listen then delete. Unless I'm avoiding someone I rarely have more than one or two messages waiting.

That's all well and good but if they're calling from a landline its' a different kettle of fish! Also "To return the call, press 3" has really put an end to that problem cdd.

"You were called [...] The caller withheld their number. Please hang up. Please hang up. Please hang up. Please hang up. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP..."
