Minimal? This advert is literally nothing at all!

And yet we're all here talking about it.

Because that's brand recognition

A bit like the advert for caffeinated shampoo, which makes no mention of why you might want to put caffeine on your head, or what benefits it might bring you.

The problem I have with the ad isn't that it necessarily breaks the rules of a conventional advert, but I just don't think it does the job very well. Sure, it shows the logo, and it does show the product, but the clips have a fast pace, and you don't see the finished product in its packaging, like the cardboard box. I tend to recognise the packaging of something first, before the logo; things like basic colours and images. If I don't see it, then I wouldn't know what to look for. This does sound like a me problem, but I don't think I'd be the only person who follows that logic.

...one of those old advert compilations has gone up on YouTube -- apparently BBC2 / Lambie Nairn let Pizza Hut use not one, not two but three of their ident concepts to flog, to quote Spike from Buffy, "melted cheese on bread" ?

I know this post was of 2 years ago, but did Alexia overlook Pres Cafe?

Yes. Deliberately so.

Oh, that's good. I would too. I tried in mid-2024, was a fucking nightmare.
