All Poundworld stores will now close by 10th August. Looks like no sort of rescue was possible.

Worth noting that report states that 299 people are still employed at head office until Friday. Yet, it was clear that the social media part of the business stopped posting as soon as the administrators took over.

Crystal Peaks - 12
I've seen all 12 of Crystal Peaks' special videos.
No idea what you're talking about. But Crystal Peaks store was probably the smallest I've been in, single fronted shop with just 3 or 4 short aisles. Surprised they had 12 staff.

I imagine those are mostly in the distribution side of things.

Poundworld founder Chris Edwards is once again making a last ditch attempt to save the business.

Hull has three branches. Whitefriargate, King Edward Street, and North Point Shopping Centre. No way do they only have 13 staff between them.

Having just read in Private Eye about the bewilderingly complex chain of debt that Yodel is in, I'm going to call a disastrous collapse for them, probably following a cold weather event. Maybe just before Christmas.

Fucking good.
Also notice that PoundLand have posters up proclaiming themselves as "Your Favourite Pound Store".
No doubt they will have to change that to "only" soon enough.

If I recall Yodel was born out of Littlewoods home delivery service, once known as HDNL and the domestic side of DHL UK's courier business which was sold.
The merging of these two businesses clearly didn't go well, although their price point was good enough for major chains to use their 'service' which is frankly the worst of the lot. They once delivered a PC smashed up here.
I think it'll come down to whether the Weirdo Brothers who also own the Torygraph will sell the business or if Littlewoods and Very will find it more viable to use a rival courier network instead of their own.
