I'm sure it was an oversight, but my local branch had the 1970s yellow logo on the outside of the lift shaft that sticks out several stories above the municipal car park it adjoined until the Swiss MT logo two-tone green era was finally adopted in around 2007. Clearly somebody must have known about its presence because someone must have been changing the light bulbs ...
There's also the forgotten Helvetica Ultra Light version inbetween the one with the green ampersand and the current "MS London" custom font

Nottingham still has a mid-20th century logo engraved in to the granite:

Goes nicely with the 60s/70s John Lewis Partnership swirly logo on the wall of Jessops/John Lewis:

Technically isn't it the 70s/80s logo that's engraved in there? It looks like it.
How many logos have M&S had since the turn of the century anyway? It seems like they were rebranding every 5 minutes at one poibt.

Depending on your interpretation, 3 or 4.

Double post, but Newport had two logos on its two doors:
Front, high street: Optima (and before that it was the old chunky gold writing)

And round the corner, the secret passageway to the downstairs section

It's all a Sports Direct now.
Of course, Newport is a haven for old logos, as this Homebase shows - it's not changed since it opened, inside or out, even with the Bunnings debacle.

Quite right, my mistake. Viccy Centre opened in 1972, not 1968/9 as I thought.

The branch here had that yellow logo on until 2005 as well.

looks like this.
Interestingly that's not the only instance of M&S changing a couple of bulbs as they change logos! See the branch in Norwich in
2012 versus
2016 as a case in point...
