AV seems to me to be a variant of how the X Factor voting works.

Week 1: 5 contestants, 1 eliminated

Week 2: 4 contestants, people who voted for last week's eliminated contestant vote for somebody else

and so on until you're down to one. In AV it continues until somebody has over 50% of the votes.

So what we need is Simon Cowell to run the whole thing via a premium rate phone line.

Problem solved.

Is it not unfair that the people who voted for the eliminated contestant in the first week get a chance in subsequent weeks to vote for the winner? I think they should have their phone lines cut off.

I'm quite excited about tomorrow. I know now which way i'm going to vote. I'll be heading to my village hall first thing before i go to work.

How many people on here have already voted by post?

I sent my ballot off early last week to ensure that the Snail Mail couldn't delay it for it to arrive too late.

Just got back from Voting YES to AV...

No other votes for me in London, but next year I can vote to get Boris Johnson out!

Not in public, martin!

ANYWAY, I have altered the poll (previous results below) on this thread to be the METRO EXIT POLL. Do vote!
Metropoll 2011 INTENDED AV VOTE
Yes: 26 (63%)
No: 15 (37%)

If that were the case the series would be over after one week. This may be a good thing!

I have heard the turn out is very good for the Scottish areas ( which means at least 60% + ) I have spoken to some of people I get on the bus, some of them Ie OAP believe Tories want AV.

have anyone heard of the turnout further south?
