But you say this at a time when there is a debate over the possibility over an official "Greater Belfast" - a term quite happily bandied about in response to Belfast City Council's objections to a John Lewis store at Sprucefield - and the proposed National Stadium at the Maze.I'm afraid Lisburn Council's days look numbered. The proposed local government shake-up will more than likely swallow up Newtownabbey, Lisburn, Castlereagh, the old Belfast City Council and possibly Carrickfergus into some form of greater Belfast council.
And if you can remember back to the days of the TV trailer featuring Kylie Minogue for "Radio 1, on 96FM in the Greater Belfast area" you can just blame the BBC for installing the term on my brain in the first place...!
