Hopeless ain't it. It's so ironic that this page - https://www.morrisons.com/help/new-morrisons-more/, says that supposedly people didn't like points, so they've relaunched it and it's worse than the first time.

I just don't understand why don't offer 10% off if you spend over £5.00 etc it sounds so much more attractive imo than pissing about collecting points.

Noticed they've also removed the Basket Bonus which was ironically the only part of the last one that was half decent, quite often got £3 off your next shop etc.

The crazy Morrisons concept store in Preston (that pretty much turned back into a normal store) is one of the ones closing. It’s going to be a Tesco.

I remember nipping in when it just opened and had no idea it was a concept store - really didn’t like it. I appreciated what they were trying to do but if felt really quite gloomy and industrial - although that’s Preston in general - but I assume they were trying to give it a sort of cosy futuristic feel and it didn’t work.

Morrisons seems to be taking inspiration from the German discounters lately.

Some of their newly refitted shops have a very Lidl-esque 'pic-n-mix' area in the Bakery section rather than the wicker baskets.

They also seem to be trialling a new 'When it's gone, it's gone" middle-aisle style thing, with very random stuff in large baskets (similar to the BOGOF baskets they had years ago). Not sure how many stores have this.

Also, it seems they have phased out the whole 'Party Zone' thing now, as they have been removing the counters and signage from stores leaving an awkward empty gap in their place.

I noticed during my most recent visit that quite a few drinks items were on clearance. I wonder if their range is also being reduced?

Has anybody seen any of the newly-refitted Morrisons petrol stations after the recent MFG takeover?

They look nice but definitely very un-Morrisons-like, especially the interior of the shops. Take away the Morrisons name and you'd never guess they were anything to do with Morrisons.

From what I understand though MFG have full control over them, only using the Morrisons name and product range.

you can't get your more points added on retrospectively either. and given that the app is always timing out and the pay at pump doesn't give you much time that's not ideal

not sure if you could get them added in the main store. the people in the petrol station seemed completely disconnected from the supermarket itself.

I popped to a Morrisons for some petrol the other day - it’s only in the last year or two had its petrol station shop rebuilt completely, but they’re mid-refurb once again and had been completely gutted at my time of visit. Think there’s a Greggs going into it too.

So, something interesting. Trollied: The Complete Series was released on DVD not too long ago. Look carefully at the box art:

Market Kitchen is no more, although if the store by me is anything to go by it's been all-but-gone for years already.

Lots of cafes, pharmacies and florists going. Some of the convenience stores acquired from McColls going too.
