I don't imagine many Sun readers were the types to vote Remain to begin with. They tend to be the sort of knuckle draggers mumbling about immigrants and "getting our country back". So feels like a case of preaching to the converted.

Oh no doubt about that. Although I'd like to think most of us on Merseyside would vote remain without The Sun telling us to do so (by telling us not to do so)

The significance of this is that The Sun is a populist paper and always tries to align its views to what it believes the result will be.

And is generally good at doing so - I don't think The Sun has backed the "wrong" side in a General Election since the 70s (but feel free to prove me wrong!)

I wouldn't say +4 is really gaining ground, it looks more like more people are claiming to be undecided.

Oh, and while that display on the Thames was embarrasing for both sides, it's quite amusing how Farage suddenly seems to have developed sympathy for fishermen. Seeing as when he was on the EU fisheries committee he showed his face a grand total of once (but of course happily took his pay check for the other 41 times he didn't appear).

I'm not paying any attention to the polls. There are so many people who would never consider voting in any other elections who are joining (and not all for remain) that I don't see how an opinion poll, or even a poll of polls can be worthwhile. Especially when you factor in how badly wrong they were last year, in a general election (where they've had 10-20 elections gone by to inform their algorithms).

We had all this too close to call stuff with the Scottish referendum - and there ended up being a 5.3 point gap. Just as then with the Yes camp, the Leave camp are winning the war in terms of the amount of noise they're putting out. That's entirely to be expected.

I can't imagine that Greater London will be anything other than a strong vote to remain and it's pretty hard to imagine the nations voting leave - the same goes for the big cities across England. With a high enough turnout, that should do it.

If you pay for Sky TV, in my opinion you lose the right to slag off Murdoch. If you've a problem with him, vote with your wallet and cancel your Sky.

I was in Liverpool about 7-8 weeks ago and genuinely surprised how available The Sun generally was. The way people still go on about it, you'd think it was, effectively, a banned publication.

Yes it is surprising - I regularly see people reading it on the train as well. It does seem to be generally stocked in supermarkets like Tesco but you will be frowned upon if you even attempt to bring it to the till.

It's a very delicate subject as you can imagine. Personally, as long as The Sun continues to employ Kelvin Mackenzie in any capacity, their apologies are null and void.
