B&Q stands for Block and Quayle, did not know that. Turns out also they've been in China for quite some time, 62 of the buggers.

Does anyone have any idea why Asda have been using the Dad's Army theme tune in their adverts for the past few months? It just seems a bizarre choice.

I have seen an advert recently where they create the Union Jack in green with their arrows - bit of a tenuous link, but possible.

Now, let's see, Cohen, Cohen, Cohen, I'm sure I ought to be able to work out where that name originates.

Maybe so, but I'd bet Jack never met any of the little Hitlers running some of the stores now...

That's for the Grocer survey, which Asda took four awards in (Business Initiative - Local Sourcing, Customer Service, Availability, and Britain's Lowest Price Supermarket).

Do you know nothing about branding - it has to be ASDA green or else the whole thing would not make sense - how else would you know it was ASDA. (I can play the old ASDA theme on the piano)

I went in an ASDA the other day for the first time in a while... and now I know why. It was packed, and it was one of these aircraft-hanger style ASDAs, so it was really cold and intimidating.

Add to that they had a whole range of HD TVs tuned to BBC HD - squished to 4:3 pillarbox!! And the quality of the scart leads they use must be crap because on all the CRT screens there was ghosting and colour problems and everything. They have imbeciles working on their Sound & Vision department!
