A loaf never has a chance to go stale in our house. Mr H will get though a loaf in a day. I buy myself a small fresh baked loaf from our local bakers for work. Its my secret lttle stash. It makes an amazing cheese & ham toastie on the george foreman lean mean fat reducing grilling machine.
Can't beat a fresh warm loaf. I will oneday get a bread maker.

Is it just me that doesn't *get* bread? I could quite happily live without it. That said, I do like my mum's Weight Watchers granary bread, but throughout my time at uni I don't recall buying more than a few loafs of anything.

Couldn't live without bread, but I don't get butter or spreads. They seem pointless to me and ruin the taste of a good sandwich.

I couldn't live without butter. My mother quite often regales the story of me, when a child, eating half a pound of butter that was softening by the fire, and thus running her plans to bake.

I hear you did the family a favour as she's a horrible cook.

I think you're confusing her with my step mother.

(Oh and that's supposed to say ruining not running.)

Enlightening. The more he talks, the more I think we're dealing with either an incredibly malicious troll or an incredibly tedious and stupid one.
