Ok, so apparently Google is still restricting new invitations, but there's a new workaround that appears to only work for gmail accounts. Please let me know if it works.

Ta, I'm guessing the invite system's under a fair bit of pressure at the minute.

So already I notice that despite the guff about keeping things private an awful lot of things are viible to "everyone on the web"

The notifications are fantastic. One thing that I think is missing is text chat integration. We all know Facebook chat is awful, but I still use it out of necessity. It'd be good if they could integrate Gtalk with this.
