Harry Hill's New Single
I was considering starting a new thread about the international aid budget today but I just can't be bothered. If there's anything worse than a tiresome right wing bore its a tiresome left wing bore.

Er, what? Sod you, Hymen, I haven't done or said anything wrong.Pete wrote:I was considering starting a new thread about the international aid budget today but I just can't be bothered. If there's anything worse than a tiresome right wing bore its a tiresome left wing bore.
I haven't much to say on the aid budget, so you go right ahead.
Ronnie is victorious, vivacious in victory like a venomous dog. Vile Republicans cease living while the religious retort with rueful rhetoric. These rank thugs resort to violence and swear revenge.
But Ronnie can punch through steel so they lose anyway.

Perhaps not but I find the condecending and high handed manner in which you're going about this thread as infuriating as when you managed to ruin the previous thread on international aid, a topic which, I should add, I happen to find facinating and was really looking forward to discussing.Ronnie Rowlands wrote:Er, what? For example, why earlier on is your comment about a girl being 14 in very large text? I see no purpose for using such size writing unless you happen to be mentioning Moria Stewart in conversation.
You're currently one step above Chie in my "list of annoying people" in terms of being dismissive. (You gain points for being misguided rather than being mental, e.g. voting for BNP based on pylon policy).
Course I'd not ban either of you, just glare, very sternly.

That was an argument with Chie that descended into madness, and I thought I raised plenty of points in other areas to keep it going. There was another instance where I made perfectly valid points on Muslim discrimination and extremist Christianity. And you know, there is an easy way. Why not say, "so anyway, International Aid, what's all THAT about"? On forums, it's perfectly possible for two discussions to go on at once in a thread. A thread isn't dead once a dispute takes place. It just keeps going and finds its natural course. No need for train pictures whatsoever.Pete wrote: Perhaps not but I find the condecending and high handed manner in which you're going about this thread as infuriating as when you managed to ruin the previous thread on international aid, a topic which, I should add, I happen to find facinating and was really looking forward to discussing.

Really? I thought I'd been addressing all of Gavin's points, actually (apart from his last post, which I must do later when I have the time), and he seemed perfectly content to continue discussing it. But of course, since you've been dismissive and compared me to Chie, I may as well not discuss this fascinating topic.Pete wrote:You're currently one step above Chie in my "list of annoying people" in terms of being dismissive.

I know you Ronnie, from our off-board chats (which I find very interesting and enjoyable, by the way); and I know that you are passionate about things.
I understand (now) that for viewers of these heated conversations that it can all get a bit much, resulting in some throwing their hands up in the air and walking off the board - either temporarily or even permanently.
Shocks the hell out of me when they do that, because I assume that they know, like I do, that a heated debate is sometimes just that; and we can go on chattering and having a lollipop no problem at all.
But I wouldn't be a very developed person if I didn't start to learn the lessons of my passion enraging some to the point of leaving the board - so perhaps you and I need to reign our vigour in somewhat, whilst not stifling our views.
I'm pretty sure we're capable of that.

Given what little good 'satire' there is at the moment, I can only agree.barcode wrote: Anyway I think its all very funny, its no worse than other any other satire at the moment.

I just don't find it funny. It all just seems quite weak to me, a poorly written song.
