Nothing here so far. The other parties have no doubt already admitted defeat, and Labour don't particularly want us to see who's been parachuted into our safe seat until it's too late.

However, a leaflet did arrive at my previous address from sitting Labour MP Rosie Cooper (fighting for her political life in West Lancashire). The copy is now in some bin somewhere, but the first sentences ran something like this:

"I moved to Skelmersdale in 1967, to a New Town full of high hopes...It didn't take more than a decade for the Tories to ruin all that." I assume she means those notable Conservatives Harold Wilson and James Callaghan?

(As an aside, this isn't the first time Rosie has put her foot in it. Weeks after she became an MP, Liverpool beat Milan in the "Champions'" League final, and she immediately called for Rafael Benítez to be knighted. Unfortunately, she forgot that Sr. Benítez was not a Commonwealth citizen, had only won one trophy (unlike that other footballing knight) and that she wasn't there to represent a Liverpool constituency, so what business was it of hers anyway?)

As a first time voter, I've had quite a bit from all three parties. The Conservatives sent a full printed leaflet to me saying [FULL NAME], YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE, next to a picture of Cameron. I've also had plenty from Ben Gummer, the Conservative candidate, and letters from Osborne and Cameron. From Labour, I've had leaflets from Chris Mole, our current MP, and a letter from Brown. I'm a bit disappointed with the Lib Dems - I was very impressed with Clegg on the debate, but on a local level, their candidate has done very little marketing, just one leaflet with a paragraph saying that he isn't a "career politician". They are putting far more effort into the Council election (and both Lib Dem candidates bare more than a striking resemblance to the Chuckle Brothers!). However, the most bizaare candidate is Independant Sally Wainman, who is standing to "Save Broomhill Swimming Pool". She stood for the same cause 5 years ago and lost her deposit, and it seems odd that she is doing the same again, as she has absolutely no chance of winning. Ben Gummer has pledged to address the issue if he is elected, so she's better off supporting him really...

I've had nothing yet. I've emailed them all asking when they are sending out their guff.

They'd better hurry up round here.

We've had our cards saying our postal voting papers will arrive on Friday 23rd and we always send them back on the same day, so any debris put through the door after then will be wasted.

Not that any of it has an ounce of chance of changing our minds in any case. You can't teach an old grumpy new policies.

She probably isn't standing to win, simply raise publicity for her cause.

I have to ask is this REALLY TRUE? what a the chance of it happening. it just happens the most PRO tory paper is running this story, as well as the falling support for the tories?

It's true.

The LibDems confirmed the notes were genuine last night when The Sun contacted them to seek verification, and Clegg spoke about them this morning at the LibDem press conference.

What are your thoughts, Chie? Genuinely.

The document tends to support my belief that Nick Clegg is too good to be true.

True, Clegg has the style, but he also has the substance (in my eyes, of course). The other two seem to have both, but between them, not together - Brown substance, Cameron style. Sadly, style often seems to be more important.
