So what happens when I get some kind of chilled product at one side of the shop, then change my mind and abandon it in a random place somewhere else in Tesco - does it go to waste or do they put it back?

It's termed "wastage." Milk for example is poured down the sink and the packaging recycled. Otherwise it goes in the bin and another £x.xx comes out of Justin King's pockets.cdd wrote:Intriguing. The good thing is that unless there's a major emergency, you are never more than 30 seconds trolley-push from a chiller, so if you are needed, you can just put the whole thing back in the walk in chiller and come back to it later.

That makes me a bit cross when I see it in Iceland. When they lay a frozen item atop a glass chiller, just because it didn't come out of that chiller.

I was gonna go for this but as i'm a frozen farm foods gal and shop very rarely at Iceland, i figure i don't stand a chance.
I tried a Bisto beauty pageant thingy when i was about 10 at Butlins ( sometime in the 80's). It went against me when i said i prefered OXO.
N.B.. It had absolutely nothing to do with the other girls being prettier than me. OK

Those vans are hermetically sealed (notice the chunky chunky doors), and should be able to hold in the cold for an hour or two. In this sort of weather it's hardly a problem though!
