Well done Hyma for finally seeing sense and cancelling Christmas.
Bah humbug and all that...

Like pontificating about it on said website?Alexia wrote:I think this website is fast becoming a parody of itself. No-one seems capable of anything resembling sanity any more. If you all want to live in a parallel universe, fine. Some of us have better things to do.
Knight knight
I wasn't aware anybody on this site was taken seriously.
Edit: Also, about the logo currently used for Metropol, I thought that was just for the London 2012 spoof theme, and has never been changed since. I also remember when this site was called Metropol 24))7, was there something wrong with that too?

The irony may be lost on some.Sput wrote:Like pontificating about it on said website?Alexia wrote:I think this website is fast becoming a parody of itself. I try to avoid taking anything on the internet too seriously.Hymagumba wrote:I wasn't aware anything on this site was ever taken seriously
The latter was because nobody ever called it by its full name and the only reason the 24/7 was tacked on was because metropol.com and metropol.co.uk were (and remain) taken at the date of the site's registration. If you look in the footer it still sneaks in a mention.Philip wrote:Also, about the logo currently used for Metropol, I thought that was just for the London 2012 spoof theme, and has never been changed since. As for the logo, well yes it did come about as part of the olympics spoof, but given a bit of a sheen and the "crumpled" effect I think its a rather nice logo on its own hence it staying. It's certainly the most distinctive logo the site has ever had and quite possibly one of the longest running by now.

Is this a good time to plug Dreamhost's fab service and the fact that putting metropol75 into the promo box will give you $75 off your first year of hosting with unlimited bandwidth and unlimited disk space? No? Sorry then.
