I hate my car!
Don't buy that at all.Alexia wrote:Yes...we were in lane 2 of a 2-lane dual carriageway doing 70, overtaking people doing 50/60, when he came up the inside of us doing 80-90!Sput wrote:Are you saying you stay in the overtaking lanes when you're not overtaking?
If there was space for him to undertake, there was space for you to get out of the way.
Sorry but sitting on the outside lane, "overtaking" cars that are hundreds of yards apart (as they must have been for this guy to be able to undertake you at only 10-20mph more than you were doing) puts you squarely in the wrong IMO.
I can't stand drivers who do this -- they're up there with the folks who dive out in front of you when you're overtaking them and a lorry, forcing you to brake (because they can't be bothered to wait the extra 5 seconds to let you past), and that fool in the green Matiz the other day who, when coming off a sliproad alongside me on the left lane (doing about 75 and being overtaken by cars doing 80-85) decides to pull in front of me, about a tenth of a second from my bumper, doing 45, leaving me with no choice but to do an emergency slowdown to avoid piling into his side. And all because he couldn't be arsed to slow down a little. What was he expecting me to do -- pull in front of the faster-moving cars? Slow to 40 to let him in? Idiot. I wanted to crash into him after the event (I dare say a Nissan Primera would have squashed the little Daewoo like a wasp).
The other ones of course are the sheep who sit on the outside lane in a convoy, leaving the left lane free for hundreds of yards, if not miles ahead. The same ones who will pull in front of you if you pass on the left -- don't they realise that it is perfectly legal to pass on the left if there is a queue of slow-moving traffic on the right and nothing on the left -- it's only the undertaking of a single vehicle that's frowned upon.
I give up.
Fuck you. We were doing 70 - the NATIONAL FUCKING SPEED LIMIT - in the outside lane, which is all we are legally entitled to do. If some CUNT in a BMW wants to break the law then he'll have to go around us the wrong way.jjames wrote:Don't buy that at all. Do you only obey the laws you choose to?
No, but you certainly seem to.
If there is space on the left you *must* move over. The fact that you didn't when you could have -- evidenced by the other driver's ability to undertake you -- makes you as much in the wrong as he was.
The pottering "I'm doing 70 so screw those around me" mimsers cause more accidents than the speeders IMO.
The speedo in my car is accurate (confirmed by satnav), unlike most other cars. The number of people mimsing in the overtaking lane at 65, probably thinking they are doing the NSL when they aren't, I come across is staggering.
No, I'm merely the one sat on the correct lane, 2 seconds behind you fuming because I can't get past, and waiting for the Beemer driver to come and sort you out

Howabout if you're in such a rush to get somewhere that you need to break the law you buy a fucking helicopter?
Why don't you fuck off back to Digital Spy where you came from?
