My food foibles follow:
Whenever I have a chicago town mini-pizza, I always scrape off the topping and eat that first, then the rest of the pizza.
I like putting a sprinkling of Lo-Salt and extra vinegar into my ready-salted crisps. Makes them all wet and sharp-tasting. Yum.
I can't stand fruit and nuts in my chocolate.
I don't peel Cheese-strings. I just bite them down bit by bit.
Oh...and for anyone who wonders what the best comfort food is? A bag of Giant Buttons and a pint of semi-skimmed milk.
Are you a Freaky Eater?
Well it's interesting because most supermarkets sell Kellogs bran, Nestlé bran, and own brand bran. It's a bit like the dog food and cat food business which is also a duopoly despite there being about 30 brands.nidave wrote:Cereal Partners are a joint venture between Nestlé and General Mills. I think the whole own brand stuff is interesting as most people are label snobs.cdd wrote:Fascinating fact: All the supermarket cereals are made by the same company, Cereal Partners. This is with the exception of Waitrose who seem to make their own cereal judging by their all bran.
Fascinating fact 2: Tesco 'value' tuna has exactly the same *secretproductID* codes on the top as premium tuna.

Mouse wants to know your fascinating facts on this cat food business. I tell him science plan is good for him. He prefers Felix sachets but says the neighbours binbags are even nicer.cdd wrote:Well it's interesting because most supermarkets sell Kellogs bran, Nestlé bran, and own brand bran. Mental anxiety, Mental breakdowns, Menstrual cramps, Menopause... Did you ever notice how all our problems begin with Men?
Most weirdy thing I have in terms of my eating habits is that I stick to chicken usually when eating meat. Fish, fine but anything other than that (particularly pork or beef) usually gives me the squits for a few days.
More dietary than actual freakery for no damn reason but there you go. Is it Freaky Foodie Week on Metropol this week?

ah now. Here's something else I've gotten in to.Gavin Scott wrote:You don't eat Kellogg's branded cereal?
I tried Sainburys own corn flakes and found them most annoying. They have no taste and are harder to eat I thought. However not wanting to waste them I ate the whole pack.
So the other day all excited I opened by box of Kelloggs corn flakes. What a load of shit they are. And why? They're full of GM muck and fake glucose syrup unlike the sainsburys ones which are all natural.
Therefore once I've trudges my way through the Kelloggs box its back to sainsburys.
Oh and their blueberry stuffed shredded wheat is amazin too. I had to drive an annoyed Mr Hyma there today after he went to change his clothes and I ate half the box of his.

I think you may find that Kellogg's 'Special K Bliss' (Creamy Berry Crunch) is the best available cereal for any time of the day or night.
However, an evening meal should ideally consist of Rack of Sput, with herbs and mint sauce.

Although, I can't seem to catch myself a live Sput
. More elusive than a hasty haggis in undergrowth.

Interesting you mention (Fruit) Wheats as I consider myself something of an expert on all stuffed wheats.
The flavours I have discovered common to all supermarkets are raisin, cranberry and apricot, in descending preference order.
Tesco and Sainsbury's (i.e. Nestle) are trying out blueberrry while Kelloggs front the rather nice new chocolate filled ones.
However Tesco are trying to up thei game with pomegranite and raspberry wheats which are bloody revolting. I tried a couple in the shop and decided I wouldn't buy them as they were tasteless. I also called the Kellogs helpline and said that I really thought they should introduce them, and was confronted with the rather bare-faced question of "Is this a genuine call?"
I must say I think Kelloggs are slowly reducing the amount of fruit per wheat. It was a bad start when they changed the name from Raisin Splitz, and no it's being marketed as a children's cereal (the difference being instead of diet advice you get Terri and Cherri's Swim Challenge or some crap).

I only eat cereal that's appropriate to whatever state assistance I'm on at the time, such as Aldi's Benefit Flakes:

They're identical to Nestle Fitnesse, quite nice too although I think they rebranded now. Can't find any Student Loan Leech flavour munchables, so I've stopped having breakfast.

Why do they aim all the best cereals at kids? j'adore Coco Pops Straws, but I don't need a fucking monkey to tell me to buy them.
