Depending on the construction date of your hospital (or the particular negotiations by your local Health Trust), the monies from car parking are very unlikely to be funneled back into the NHS. More likely the cash will be collected by the owners of the land, or the commercial "partner" in one of those public/private initiatives, created by the Tories and expanded by New Labour.

The same goes for internet/television/telephone lines/food outlets, all of which are defined as 'third-party revenue streams' despite being on what you would think of as "hospital grounds".

Livingston's St John's Hospital is a good case in point where the car parking fees have become so disgracefully high that even my mother baulked at visiting me after I had a touch of cosmetic surgery.

So the NHS continues to be free, but getting into the building may be a different story.

I have a briliant doctors and hospital. I Have to drive 30 miles to get there though the hospital not the Quacks. Why do they call a DR. a QuacK?

It's short for "quacksalver" First use was around 1600, possibly earlier. Literally a, "hawker of salve". There are various uses of it in other languages.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but I assure you its a stimulus/response scenario. Nothing more.

Various topics you start (start, mind you - not just ones you contribute to) reveal you to have really strong negative feelings toward whole chunks of society. We're not talking "Grumpy Old Men" stuff here, you wish death and pestilence on people because of what they do and who they are. Because you were mildly inconvenienced (and that's what I read in your opening post) a whole health system was decried by you. I wondered how long it would be for Dentists to muck you around, hence my comments.

Please don't start to unpick the tapestry of Metropol banter Jamez. You give it out in abundance so you can't really complain at the odd sardonic comment from me.
