I live (nearly) opposite a disturbing evangelical american church who like nothing better but to trick students into coming in and then beat the devil out of them and convert gays into straight folk. Also once you become a full member of the church you have to give 25% of your income to them. Oddly the owners of said church live in a huge mansion house.

Mr Hyma went once with his friend for a laugh. At one point during the service a mad lady got up and started dancing around the pews, his friend had to put her hand over her mouth to stop herself laughing out loud at the mad bitch. However as the people around her noticed her shaking they thought she had been saved and were screaming "she can feel the love of Jesus". Suffice to say they made a swift exit.

Alexia - did you have one on mind?
Err... religion?

I learned some time ago not to mock those who cherish their religion, but I draw the line at having their moral objections and opinions pitched towards me.

By all means those who wish to be guided by some kind of spirtual leader are welcome to do so, but the Church has no business making recomendations to the scientific community.
Are you one of those scientolgists Gav?

My uncle Stu is a Jehovah's Witness, so we get the usual crowd of Jehovah's knocking at my door at awkward times. They always seem to be out on Tuesday mornings, but I've now stuck a 'No Religious Groups' sign on my door, so they shouldn't come back and try and preach to me.

I felt the love of Jesus once.

At least that's what he said his name was...

I'm closer to Old Mother Hubbard than L Ron Hubbard.

Or entering into political or legal discussion.

Walking past a church a couple of weeks back, there was a sign promising people "The answers to the difficult questions". Yes, folks: a wizard did it! All you need is the wizard's love, which is unending, unless you partake in something he doesn't approve of in which case he hates you and punishes you forever.

One thing I DID enjoy watching is a clip of Michael Moore from when he was funny (who knew?) when he invented the Sod-O-Mobile and took it to Fred Phelps:

Reminds me of someone who is not a certain tv chef.
