Which hospital A&E departments have you visited?
I've been to Hope Hospital, Salford a few times, Bolton General in Bolton a couple of times, Warwick Hospital once (I don't remember much of that as I was stretchered off a train at Leamington Spa with some nice sedation) and another once in Peterborough, which I *presume* was Peterborough District Hospital.
Do you have an "I-Spy" book of A&Es that you cross off on your way round the country. Either that or:ThePotato wrote:I've been to Hope Hospital, Salford a few times, Bolton General in Bolton a couple of times, Warwick Hospital once (I don't remember much of that as I was stretchered off a train at Leamington Spa with some nice sedation) and another once in Peterborough, which I *presume* was Peterborough District Hospital.

Local NHS Trusts must dread your intended travel and/or arrival in their area. Do you have ASBO restrictions placed by the Department of Health on where you can travel?

I would love to say that I'm a spy and the second of your options it applicable, but alas no; I'm simply prone to muscular spasms in my neck, which cause me to not be able to move. My doctor does state I'm his most well-travelled patient in terms of A&E departments visited! The fact that I have been to so many does rather help in filling in said I-Spy book though. I also have ones on "Types of Ambulance" and "Types of Stretcher" which have many many ticks in the little boxes provided.StuartPlymouth wrote:Do you have an "I-Spy" book of A&Es that you cross off on your way round the country. You are accident prone
Someone is after you (with no good intent)

I'm glad you saw the funny side of my comment. A recurring ailment is not normally viewed as humour material, but my late Mum was of similar character on her regular visits to NHS departments when travelling away from home.ThePotato wrote:I would love to say that I'm a spy and the second of your options it applicable, but alas no; I'm simply prone to muscular spasms in my neck, which cause me to not be able to move. Your comment certainly made me laugh, and there's no point in getting uptight about the situation. Might aswell make the most of it, laugh along and enjoy life!StuartPlymouth wrote:I'm glad you saw the funny side of my comment. I would hope it would make you laugh had we been having the conversation across a table in the local hostelry on the nice Sunday afternoon that it was. I would've furthermore commented that "getting uptight" about it may have caused a further spasm and reached for my mobile with the aim of allowing further boxes to be ticked! You appear to have established my sense of humour wellThePotato wrote:Your comment certainly made me laugh, and there's no point in getting uptight about the situation. I do hope your condition is not permanent MrPotato. But at least this afternoon you have demonstrated one of the benefits of this board in its ability to make off-the-cuff remarks without offence, and also call upon peoples' opinions on a range of somewhat random subjects.

Being an old old man in TVF terms (indeed some people may well remember me from the times of the old TVF IRC channel and before), my readership and participation on Metropol is a relatively new part of my life, but I hope it long continues, especially with such good people as yourself, Sput and Mr. Harvey. Here's to Metropol!
BTW,
I'f I'm ever down Plymouth way, I'll take you up on that Sunday afternoon drink in a local hostelry of choice. Sounds quite appealing in the warm weather.

Yuk! Yuk! Yuk!
Just read the Daily Mirror and William Harvey hospital in Ashford it has been reported in 2006 adult cockroaches found in kitchens and 2007 infestation of oriental cockroaches in kitchens.
That is so disgusting. I'm glad i have never had to stay in any hospital long enough to choose any delights from the menu.
It is the Mirror so not sure how much truth there is in the story. Is your local hospital listed in their story?
