I don't like thinking about the inevitable too much. I'm not sure what i fancy yet. Mingling with the worms don't appeal to me much nor does being B.B.Q.

It's what happens to my soul is what concerns me. I'm hoping it's guaranteed a place in heaven.

That's if heaven exists - which I, and millions of others, don't believe it does.

Some people would even go as far as to say that none of this, that we experience now, is true reality. A kind of pseudo-reality if you like. I haven't studied this as much as I'd like to, but the general theory is that everything we see and touch, including ourselves, is part of a much bigger, almost incomprehensible master plan by some kind of super-intelligence. In fact, there are many scientists that say that our universe may be one of an infinite collection of other universes - all with different characteristics and completely different laws of physics.

But right now, intelligent life on this planet isn't so intelligent. Far away in the future, in the year 100,000AD (and assuming humans haven't managed to kill themselves off by then), they will laugh at how primitive the people were back in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth millennia.

Something to think about.

It's all incredibly simple.

If you believe in the big bang theory, ask yourself who banged the two bits together.

If you believe in God (any variety), ask yourself who made God?

That's the point at which you start worrying.

Well as a failed Philosopher (for those very reasons) I can back up your points; good sir.

Personally, I have chosen the religious view, but I understand and respect the atheist or agnostic views of others... it is a pretty big decision after all!

As Ms H said, I would hope for eternal life, but I hope that forgiveness is part of this bargain for my own sake!!!

If someone dies on you, you hope for anything like heaven to exist for the slight chance of seeing that person again, whenever that will be.

ps The funeral directors seemed surprised when we said burial recently.
