I have a St Piran's Cross and a Ddraig Goch hanging from my window. No sign of a Union flag anywhere.
after gordon's announcement i had visions that the union flag would be flying high over the council house in brum - but thankfully they're still flying the birmingham flag from the top with st george's and the union flags beneath.
possibly in a purely visual sense... but I've never felt much affinity towards the St David's Cross and to be honest as a symbol of Wales it was pretty obscure and limited to Christian circles until it became associated with Cardiff City. The Welsh Christian Party wanted it to be incorporated as the official Welsh flag, due to the dragon being a "satanic" symbol. The St Piran's flag however has meaning - silver tin ore seams embedded in the mud of the earth - and as such I can look at it and have an understanding of what it represents beyond the obvious fairy-tale Christian story of St Piran floating across the Irish Sea on a millstone, landing at Perranporth etc.
I think I'm over analysing it slightly - flags are symbolic on so many levels, but at the most basic level, you see a representation of a land, nation or company that is associated with you on a personal level, and you have a personal reaction to it. I do not have a personal reaction to the Union Flag, but I do to Ddraig Goch and St Piran.

Pembrokeshire happily flies its flag over government buildings. It's quite English in its design, incorporating the Tudor rose (King Henry VII was born in Pembroke Castle) and the fact that the area where I'm from is known as 'Little England Beyond Wales'.
