There are two problems I currently have with Vista and those are the "long goodbye" delete and copy problem, and that it will not hibernate correctly. Both issues I expect to be fixed with service pack 1.

Other than that its a fantastic piece of kit which I find far more usable than any other computer I have ever touched.

I haven't experienced your Hibernation problem (tho' I tend to use Standby rather than Hibernate). What happens on your machine?

If you're referring to the lack of any screen that says 'Hibernating' - that's annoying, but a design flaw.

I have used vista (all be it RC2) and found the constant "Are you sure you want to do this" rather infuriating, if I clicked the button then I want control panel and I want to fiddle with things stop asking me if im sure every time. And whilst you can turn that off, you then loose the whole point of the new security-ness of vista itself... And whilst Areo is very nice, its just aesthetics, it doesn't make me more productive its doesn't improve my PC experience, it just gobbles HD space and cash from my wallet.

Vista has changed quite significantly since RC2 (not in terms of how it looks but its behavior). I only get the UAC dialog maybe once a day, something like that. And it's usually only for actions like installing programs, etc.

Point taken about price, though - I'd be grumbling too were it not for the fact that I got all my copies free :)

Hyma - about the "long goodbye" delete and copy problem - I expereince that, but I also get another odd problem to do wtih copying, which is that if I copy something by dragging and dropping, it doesn't always work unless I rest my pointer on the destination for a second or so (until the 'Copy to...' text appears). Similarly Ctrl+c/Ctrl+v also sometimes doesn't work. Have you experienced this?

See I think that is the main issue for main peoples lack of upgrading, if I want Vista I want Ultimate but I don't wanna pay hundreds of pounds for it. If it were free/under £50 I'd be running it right now.

But on topic, yeah, use Firefox.

If i press sleep it goes into sleep and the power light flashes.

If I go into hibernation, it hibernates, and then the second the power cuts off it turns back on again and restores itself from hibernation.
