See, there are some happy stories from [i]that[/i] place. I've got several close friends that I've met because of GD. I do loathe the place, but get strangely drawn to it.

I've met a few good friends through Gaydar too, never actually venture on there these days, evn if my profile still lurks. I did only use if for a while to stay in touch with a few friends but have found alternative ways now, so no real need for it.
