So i guess what that reply means is i dont know?
What i was trying to say, is like when we pay taxes - ok thats sent of, then what? Does it go into a massive bank account which is then sorted out to give to different depts? Why do we never see this.
Its the process i want to see. Im not that think - i dont think
And another thing, when ever i try and make topic of convo here its seen as boring, or silly - except the NHS one i did.

I must admit to being a little lost by the developments of this thread.

Leave TrickyPony alone, you nasty lot. He was only asking a couple of reasonable questions which you would normally see in the "Questions from Correspondents" column in the Daily Mail.
Income Tax
It's deducted (along with National Insurance) according to the rules for that tax year. If you are Schedule E (Pay-as-you-Earn) it's added up and sent to Revenue & Customs every month (Contributions Agency for NI) - less any tax rebate the Employer has claimed for SSP, SMP etc.
At the end of the tax year a P43 is issued by the Employer to R&C, this should balance with the amount they have sent on your behalf. You are then given a P60 which reflects the same details from the single or multiple P43s they received (depending on how many jobs you'd had). Never lose them as a duplicate can never be issued.
The money is theoretically kept by the Bank of England, although the physical money doesn't go anywhere. Every year the Govenment sets out how the income from all centrally collected taxes are allocated to each department in "votes" (so called because they were voted for by parliament).
The goverment departments (and any other recipient) then spend it as quickly as possible, normally over-spending and having to go back "cap-in-hand" and beg for more!
Payments to Banks
Don't even get me going as to why banks take 5 days to clear payments when everything is transferred electronically! Although I believe they have been told to stop dragging their feet like this as it just means they have £Ms swimming around in suspense accounts which they play with on the foreign exchange markets.

Oh, I'm sorry you're right. While we're at it, let's pre-empt some more of his fascinating questions:

Why can't the mint print more money so we all have more cash?

Why do you get bills when you use your credit card?

What do they make plants out of?

How does Dyslexia work? (oh, wait...)

The Royal Mint mints the coins. The banknotes are PRINTED somewhere else.

I think I'm correct in saying, you're a bit of a tit aren't you. Maybe you should be referred to as nipple from here on in.

I think that's a bit uncalled for Ebeneezer. Surely the whole point of this forum is to discuss topics, however and by whoever they are raised.

That was exactly my point Stuart, it was a reaction against cdd's sarcastic comments in a valid thread where onetrickpony was doing exactly what people should do - asking questions rather than speculating.
