beacuse they speak english and therefore are similar. same with australians. Then it goes to europeans as they're close. Everyone else is rubbish

It always reminds me of the classic sketch on Not The Nine O'Clock News, when the newsreader says: "Two Britons were killed when a plane crashed today. The other victims, in order of importance, were 4 Americans, 10 French, 17 Germans and 203 Africans."
That sketch is such an devastatingly accurate observation on how our media treats loss of life on the grounds of nationality. They really do have a ratio system in place which determines the importance of human life in news terms. It's something along the lines of: 1 Briton = 5 Americans = 20 Russians = 50 Arabs = 300 Africans = 1000 Chinese.
You really should post here more regularly.
Those words you just uttered really brings that song to mind. You all should to listen to it. It will raise a wry smile.
It's called Dirty Laundry and it's by Don Henley.
I really have an issue, specifically with Kay Burley. She always tries to be sincere but her words never seem to have any depth. Especially when she says " errm yes" to whatever a guest or victim is saying and then fires in with her next question. She may as well just say " whatever" in that dismissive tone. All she really wants to know is how many people are dead or all the bad stuff. You know she's not really listening to what someone is saying.
Just a hunch but i bet she's not a very nice person away from the camera.

Agree. I do think that the 'Al Jazeera International' would be a good alternative to the current broadcasters. I think I will catch myself turning to it if it airs on Freeview.
