There's a really fab product in Scotmid (Easter Road, Hyma). Corn on the cob (x2) vaccuum packed and ready to be popped in the microwave for 2 1/2 minutes.
Its as fresh and sweet as any I've had before and virtually instant.
Every time I cook it I remember that I don't have cob forks, so I struggle with a full size fork jammed in one end, with a tea towel for a bib.

Corn on the cob, plus butter, plus beard, equals disaster!

I'm pleased to note you didn't add "dentures" to that list.

To be honest I buy a bit of both. I find stuff like Smart Price chopped tomatoes to generally be 10% tomatoes, 90% diluted red water, so I avoid things like that. I prefer Sainsburys Oxtail Soup to Heinz and Tesco or Adsa's Mulligatawny Soup to Heinz also. OK, they maybe saltier, but the taste is how Heinz's used to be before their health kick! Straying off the food bit for a bit, I find some cheap household stuff from the economy ranges to be fine. A pair of scales for 89p last week from Tesco!
A bloke at work says Asda and Tesco should merge. His suggestion for a new name? Asbo.

I'm really, really laughing out loud. I'm gonna text that to all my mates.

Reminds me of the time I was in Asda and saw a shoplifter being frog-marched out by the police whilst the 'calypso' mix of the Asda tune was playing loudly on the speakers. Seemed strangely comical at the time.
