They are replacing a bridge on the A66 where i live, and the lanes narrow and they all sort of bend to one side so there is more room for the workmen to put up the tempory bridge... no matter what signs are up people all seem to think there is a lane closed and have seen people do emergancy stops to get into the other lane.. usualy because they are on thier mobile phone!
Thats another thing - no one can concentrate fully on the road with a mobile clamped to thier ear. Saw a minny swerver over 3 lanes of the M1 while on the phone.

I was driving along there the other day (it also being near where I live...) and nearly had a heart attack as they decided to remove one of the old bridge supports or something similar in a very loud fashion just as I drove past... thought I'd hit something! Do they not know I'm of a nervous disposition?!

the police are planning on replacing the "SLOW DOWN YOUR SPEED : XX " Signes with proper cameras soon as people are not keeping to the 30 limit... god knows why its set at that as the lanes are not that much narrower
