I'm curious to see the real version too, but it's very hard to track down. Loads of stuff on Stephen Cannell though, most of it saying how vain it is to feature yourself in the credit. He claims he did it because his critics at the time were calling him a media mogul, suggesting he sat back and made the money. He claimed that wasn't true and says he spent hours in front of his typewriter every day, hence the wee sequence was created.

At least the jingle sound is pretty authentic!

Although I did muchly enjoy the Family Guy version of the thing, I was looking for the whole Nick Harvey on a bicycle thing again. At least, I seem to recall him on a bicycle (might be wrong) and some very understated acting from Mr Ison.
