Come to Oxford! Apart from having the prettiest town in the world, we've got great links with London and a year's "unlimited" pass on the oxford tube (the direct bus service to London) is only £1820 for 2 years, which works out at just £76/month - or £5/journey, and comes with the added perk of free intra-city bus travel and free croissants, orange juice and newspapers for your morning commutes.

Jay, what's wrong with a houseshare? It's what most other people your age are doing.
I've found a fantastic set of housemates, we didn't know each other before we moved in and we're still here in Ealing nearly 2.5 years later!
London is a fantastic city and like any other place there are nice areas and not so nice areas that you want to avoid.

Ealing is a very nice place, we're lucky - I think we've got something of a good deal: 4 double bedroomed house about 10mins walk from tube for about £420/month. Then you have to add on council tax & bills unfortunately, so it comes to over £515 usually. Most places would be another £100 or more I reckon...
Remember, you still have to pay for travel when you get here, it's about £100 a month for a Zones 1-3 travel card!

You have a VERY good deal there! even £515 a month is very good! Can I not sleep on your sofa?!
Maybe I'll be better off commuting for a while and building up some sort of a fund first... Hmmmm...
