I successfully got information about the DAB rollout and the decision that prevented West Cornwall getting DAB until late December last year from the BBC shortly after the Act came into force.

Sput is of course correct, everything under the FOIA is subject to a public interest test. The theory is that if the public interest is high enough, it can out weigh any potential exemptions that may exist. The reality is that the exemptions, broad in nature are often applied to very sensitve information. In addition, most public departments have spent the past 10 years cleaning up their record keeping practices in preparation for this so the chances of finding anything sensational is limited since most of that information would have been destroyed in the first instance.
