I got bored of trying to sleep so watched Big Al for a bit, then saw that Quizmania was on.

Now not one to plug such utter shite, but did a Google on Greg Scott (one of the presenters).

I laughed.

I hardly think that closing a thread which is taking the piss out of people who are trying to do something constructive with their lives and who unfortunately have down syndrome, is a bad thing.

By all means take the piss out of someone like James Martin because he invariably asks for it, but to take the piss out of someone who suffers from a severe disability, whos trying to make something of themselves and someone who isn't even a member of this forum to defend themselves is, in my book, not on.

Some of you seem to assume that I'm doing this merely to flex my moderators muscle, which isn't true. If I wasn't a mod, I would have PM'd Gavin to close the topic for the reasons stated in my last post of the 'Jamez iz back' thread.

I'm not going to close this topic, even though it was started by someone who I suspect is from the same clan as Dusty Jacket/Sideshow Ed etc.

As for me being hypocritical, please show me where I have taken the piss out of someone for having a disability in the past!
what you fail to understand is that it's not a matter of whether somebody is disabled or not, everybody is fair game in this world. and anyway, that's not the point.

you have in the past tirelessly ripped the piss out of people on this forum, i've never had any problem with this, as i myself am a windup merchant and pisstaker (here and in the real world).

where i lost respect for you was when you "quit" the forum. what slideshow ed highlighted (and your new role as moderator re-enforces) is you are not the person in real life you portray yourself to be here, in fact, you actully come accross as a very weak character (maybe that's why in the past there has been 3 or 4 open threads discussing your life, as in the real world nobody is much interested?)

and to say that if you were not a moderator you would have contacted gavin the have the thread closed, after EVERYTHING you have said and done towards the people here is hypocritical to the extreme. you have always been one to encourage arguments and bitching in the past (unless it's bitching against you that is, the last time that happend you "left" the forum)

i don't like having my freedom supressed at the best of times, i can just about tolerate being moderated by an idiot (which is the norm on most forums although ison, gavin and jb are all fab and consistent) but to be told what is right and wrong by somebody with a past such as yours james is quite frankly astonishing.

and why were you so quick to attack ison highlighting breaches in t&c spanning numerious posts about the use of the term "james prout" in his signature and then procedeed to then use somebody elses fullname in your signature, accussing them of being slideshow ed, yet not publishing any of the evidence for your conclusion, such as ip addresses etc?

but craig f isn't a member of this forum (well he has a username, but he hasn't posted since September 29 2004 so it's fair to assume he's left the forum), so he can't defend himself. we've only got your word to go on that craigf was dusty, so where is the difference?

why is having a laugh about somebodies crap radio manner any different to accussing somebody of being a multiple username when neither are here to defend themselves?
taking the piss out of disability and calling them "mental" is just too close to the bone for me
just so you know the terms idiot, imbecile, moron, retard and many others have all been used as technical psychiatric definitions in the past.

i'm fairly sure some people would argue that accusing simon luxton of being a paedophile is "close to the bone", even if it is done in jest. again the views you now hold conflict with your past actions.

that's why i have no respect for you as moderator and why you're a hypocrite.

I think what Dr Lobster said is true. It's not necssarily the things you've done that are objectionable, iindeed actually enjoyed that part of your character. However, it is that, with moderator status, suddenly you stand conceited with your claim that actions extremely similar to what you've done in the past are wrong. You always used to follow a policy of being unhypocritical and this formed the most significant part of your argument against the Dusty Jacket group. Why has this suddenly been dropped?

I'll re-open the topic, against my better judgement and I hope it will put itself quietly to sleep.

I don't want to be known as a trigger-happy mod with no sense of fun - but to avoid repeating myself, taking the piss out of disability and calling them "mental" is just too close to the bone for me personally.
So you thought you'd quietly remove the thread while no-one was looking.

Surely this is the sort of behaviour that you would once have been quick to condemn if one of TVF's mods had been responsible?

Not an impressive start, Jamez.

Jamezie does seem ill-tempered today, doesn't he?

Perhaps we should call him "Padlock Prout".

Where's his sense of fun gone? He doesn't seem to appreciate Metropol's anarchic charm.

Jamez might not have liked what was being said in the thread about cat and TVF, but precisely what objective justification can he provide for locking it?

Spend a day and a night in a hospital having tubes, needles, ecg's and all the rest of it attached to you!!

Then, perhaps, you'll realise why I'm slightly "ill-tempered".

I think that's a ridiculous thing to say if you really knew why I've been in hospital. But, as ever you're an ignorant tosser trying to point score.
