It doesn't take long to get used to using a Mac, but I'm a bit underawed by the comparative lack of software.

That said, I tired a fab piece of Mac software this afternoon called Live Channel. It lets me vision mix live and pre-recorded DV video and output it in realtime. The quality is superb, and eclipses anything I managed to get my PC to do.

Perhaps I really should have one of each.

I know it doesn't suit everyone, but I find that all the Software I need is available for Mac. Fair enough certain specialist apps don't work, and "office:mac" 2004 though fab doesn't have the complete set of apps in the MS Office suite. And of course MSN Messenger (Or "Microsoft Messenger" as it's to become this month) is nothing more than a pile of shite.

I think the only area where the Mac is currently less useful than a Windows PC, is with games. Sure, you can play a number
of almost current and fairly recent games on a Mac, but there's a far smaller selection available, and you need a very high
spec Mac, such as a PowerMac G5 to run them. In all other areas, the Macintosh platform these days, is undoubtedly
superior to a Windows PC, especially with regards to overall stability and security.

Eitherway, I use both platforms. Both Windows PC's and Apple Macs running Mac OS X, have their fair share of pros and
cons between them. Essentially, the ongoing Mac vs PC debate is mot much more than a matter of personal preference.

Maybe you could do with hanging on to that Mac you borrowed for a bit longer, or at the very least, until your PC is fixed.
