no it just sends out an email with a link to click on to ake sure you use a real email address. Easy enough for someone with an IP and a POP3 server.

I'd like to ban the above member becuase he's clearly been signing up accounts surplus to his original Hymagumba one (registered when this activation requirement was not present - nor was the email requirement for that matter)...
