Row PLEASE don't take this the way -- quite the contrary, your father totally deserves it and should be contratulated.

However, are there too many knights now? Countless businessmen and "charitable" people (e.g. Bill Gates) have soaked up this honour and it sort of devalues it. Not long ago, there used to be only a handful of these people, now the list is incredibly long. Does the Queen have a quota or something?

Michael Buerk still hasn't been knighted, which is a disgrace.
