I got subtitles to work on a VHS once. 10 seconds behind, but they worked. I'm not deaf... but they worked...

Older (heavier) VHS tapes seem to record more of the teletext signal than today's tapes, makes it easy to date old recordings!

On a related note, where is teletext on Sky? It appeared for about one hour before disappearing for good

I managed to get half of the front page from the old Sky Digital teletext service. Only lasted a few seconds though. I got it off an old recording of Sky Premier.
