Keef White always sticks in my memory, mainly because there’s a day in 2003 that I want back. Took forever to get rid of all his crap.

Relaunch threads such as BBC News 24 are always memorable for the buzz of activity as relaunches occur. That and the immediate dislike for what is new.

The TV Forum Lounge/Metropol transfer was an interesting one. The panic that no one was going to post being the main reason. The fact it all happened without warning seemed to catch a lot of people off guard - I guess we're all used to 60 pages of speculation before any great change lol.

I remember the Adam incident - mind you, I'd rather forget it. Didn't particularly enjoy going through threads to delete those images.

The Unban James Martin saga was enjoyable. That protest site was the funniest thing I've seen on here. Particularly my demonisation lol.

May I ask what James did to warrant such harsh treatment in the first place?

Jarongate was the sensation of the century - it basically was the story of a guy who tricked people into thinking that he worked for the BBC and later for Sky, although he didn't work for either organisation at all in reality (apart from in his dreams). He used various names such as "Jaron Vandestarre Brass" and also used photographs of other people as himself. In reality he was just some guy who lived in Florida and had an obsession with Apple Macs.

His web of lies fell apart when some wannabe Sherlocks decided something was totally right. Cue a 20 page or so thread about it complete with his rebuttals and threats of legal action, complete with people who at the time trusted him backing him up. In the end he owned up to it all and posted a lengthy piece about why he decided to do it on his site.

That's what I can remember off the top of my head. If anyone else has a better memory than I, then do fill in the gaps.

And whatever happend to the BrassEye topic?

Truth be told, I can't even remember!

I do remember:

In late November 2003, a troll signed up as "james_martin_2004" pretending to be me. Martin was convinced this was me, incognito, and therefore banned me immediately without any opportunity to defend myself. IP checks would have revealed that I was not this troll. Understandably, this hacked me off somewhat.

The bit everyone remembers is that I began a website around this time last year to basically defend myself and say I didn't do it and the evidence that amounted to it, given I'd felt strongly over the subject. While trying to defend myself, I was having a laugh with it too to show the contribution that I could make to the community if allowed.

Anyway, much debate followed until I decided to actually troll Metropol for real, under the guise of "Flava" (named after the Peter Andre song who was having his career jointly revived by "I'm A Celeb" and Chris Moyles at the time) - Martin caught on and let me stay under the Flava name - as Si-Co and others will know, I still use the name Flava over at TV Forum.

With the site's first anniversary in August looming, I polled the members to see if they felt it right that I should revert back to using my real name. With the poll in my favour, Martin asked me would I like to revert back to my real name and I said so, which I did from the point of the site's new look.

The rest, as they say, is history!

Johnnyboy has remembered three gems for me:

- The TV Forum IRC Chatroom!
- #hash - Give Hash A Bash
- The Lounge's temporary closures, which of course led to the development of Metropol.

Lol thankyou James for that details account.

Does anyone remember when, over on TV Forum, The Lounge was given a brief red and blue look? I dont suppose anyone has any PrintScreens of it? lol

Phew! That is a relief; for a moment I thought you must have done something really unacceptable, such as:

- trying to flog campus radio station calendars by sending private messages to forum members
- daring to disagree with Nick Harvey
- spreading rumours about Uncle Bruce's personal life
- uploading an avatar that wasn't a picture of your good self
- leading a heterosexual lifestyle
- steering every thread in the direction of 'It's never been the same since ITV cancelled Crossroads/censored Home and Away* (*delete as appropriate)

   ;)
