Theres a show on Sky Travel called Aussie Invasion, where a pack of Australians live in London and explore England. One of them went to Blackpool, and he basically said the people genrally wern't of a high standard.

But hell, good on you. I hope you enjoy your travels.
I think you are out of order and clearly ignorant to post such a thing "i advise you to stay south"i live in Scotland i wouldn't say it's full of "chavscum".Having travelled all over the world i don't think one can make sweeping statements like that. Also from my experiences of OZ i realy enjoyed it and thought that the people were great. I wouldn't post things on forums saying don't go to OZ as some of them are rough, backward and realy into murdering and raping English backpackers . :twisted:I wouldn't say people in Blackpool go about doing that sort of thing .

I find that really offensive personally - I don't criticise the South, even though many parts are of little interest and little culture.

Although Blackpool is no great highlight, it's alright - the majority of the North is really good (just avoid Teeside). The Lakes (aka. Cumbria) are really nice, and Durham, Northumberland, North and West Yorkshire are all great. Scotland (apart from selected parts of Glasgow) is fabulous. I find the people here (especially Scotland) also to be much friendlier than Southeners, who are so up their own arses because the population is high and pay is slightly better. Plus you get the advantage of being able to get on a train without being squashed against a wall by a stampede of commuters.

If I'm not mistaken, the "chav" varient of that class live in Kent and not in the north which is populated by Charvers and Scotland which has Neds.

When I'm moaning about England, I'm moaning about England. Not Scotland. I've never been to Scotland so I'll make no comments about it.

I live north. I don't like it, practically every person from this damned hell hole have been arseholes. stay South of England, you can go back tell of your travels with at least 5 good things to say about this... damned hell hole.

Well umm... thanks for the advice Cheese Head, although I'm coming over for the good and the bad parts of the UK. I don't really want some nice, sweet touristy version. I'm coming over for a change of lifestyle and scenery, to do something completely different. But thanks anyway, I'll be sure to watch out for chavs or whatever ya wanna call them lol.

Cheese head-

if someone is within a 50-mile radius of you England will seem like a horrible place... think about that before you criticise England!

And why do "Experimental Photographers" think that they can get into the world of photography? Even as a hobby I pity these creatures who run around with a camera (but without talent) taking happy-snappy photos of things they stumble across. The pattern's always the same in the type of things they take, too!

You seriously need to get a life... and since when have you lived North? I had always thought you lived in the Midlands. You've probably not even been North of anywhere like Manchester or Leeds anyway - could you seriously criticise places like the Lakes, Weardale, Teesdale, York, Durham City, the Pennines, North Yorkshire and Northumberland? I doubt it...

Good. It wouldn't be travelling if you didn't. If I was speaking to a cliche english person right now, they'd probably tell me about theyre package holiday in a british colony of spain.

Meh. Your opinion. I'm proud of pictures I take, pictures I draw. You might not think so, but then again, i have about as much respect for you as i do for your opinion.
