Amazing timing as this pops up on my screen from PA News:

Rio Ferdinand in warm jizz
WHAT?!?!?
I've not read your entire post, because it's too long and boring, but you have just told me in that first line that rape and group sex and are ''not really'' different.
You then go on to say that what was alledged of John Leslie (watch what you are saying, he was cleared) is basically equating to what Rio Ferdinand has done.
You are an unbelievably stupid pillock.
Go and drown yourself and do the whole of society a favour.

Dr Sigmund Mohammad wrote:not really.cat wrote:
No, sorry, that is TOTALLY different.
the correlation is stark.cat wrote: John Leslie was accused of raping a woman. There is absolutely no correlation - or should not be - between that and consensual adult sex, be it between 2 or 200 people.
both john leslie and rio ferdinand have engaged in promiscious sexual behaviours, fuelled by their celebrity status.
my point is, is that if one does participate in activities such as group sex etc etc, the definition of rape becomes blurred.
say for instance a female has consensual sex with one player with other men in the room, all parties involved may have consumed large amounts of alcohol and or drugs, and several other players have their 'turn' with her. she may note have wanted to have sex with them ,but because of her intoxicated state, does. where does this leave the players? consent was implied, but not given.
the similarity between this and john leslie was drawn from a simular case last year where a girl, who had consented to sex with one player, claimed to have been raped by two others (carlton cole and titas bramble).
i know this is not the case here, but nevertheless, given how this can so easily happen, ferdinand should have taken steps to avoid his exploits getting into the public domain, and not being stupid enough to allow them to be filmed.
whilst sex should always be a private event between consenting individules, the very fact that he is a celebrity, the very fact that he is in the public eye leaves him open to kiss and tell stories, false rape allegations and so on. obviously for this footage to get out in the first place mean't at best he was careless, and given his position should have ensured that this video could never have been filmed in the first place.cat wrote:
You said he should alter his behaviour accordingly - how, exactly, should he do this when it comes to sex in a private situation?
did the female participants consent to being filmed? probably not.
well quiet, and from what i've read about this footage, there are allegations of drug taking amoungst the players. i will dig around google for the source if you wish to debate this point.cat wrote:
As for being discreet about 'their activities' which you label broadly as 'sex/drugs' as if to suggest that is all celebrities do, I would suggest to you that use, purchase and supply of drugs brings with it the potential for a criminal conviction, and group sex absolutely does not.
Had he been supplying/buying/taking drugs, FINE. But he was not. He did not engage in anything remotely illegal.
yes, but like i've said, if he doesn't want his sex life to be in the public eye, why allow it to be filmed?cat wrote:
And you do seem to be missing the rather fundamental, underlying point that just because he, in your own words, is 'in the public eye' does not mean that his sex life should be, and does not mean that he should be expected to act in a manner which upholds such an attitude.

if you had read the post correctly (rather than taken the inital comment out of context), you would have noted it was a comparison between the cases, rather than rape and group sex.cat wrote:WHAT?!?!?

since, to attempt to win the argument you have had to resort to name calling, (and can't even be bothered to read the counter arguments) i feel that there is little point in attempting to debate this issue with you, since it would appear, you can never be wrong.

Can't be bothered continuing the debate because everyone's thinking you're an idiot, more like. Just because I call you a pillock does invalidate my entire argument, I am continually baffled by that response from people.
You compared the Ferdinand/Leslie case, I said there was no comparison because one was rape (illegal) and the other was group sex (legal), to which you replied that they were really not different at all.
Heaven forbid you ever have a threesome. The poor women will find themselves raped and assaulted and you'll be put in prison if that is your interpretation of the term.

your argument is invalid because your response was based on a comment that you had taken out of context, and so is the rest of the reply above.cat wrote:if you had read the post correctly (rather than taken the inital comment out of context), you would have noted it was a comparison between the cases, rather than rape and group sex.

Well why don't you put it back in context.
Having followed the debate - given that i make up 50% of it - and that assuming the context you are making reference to is that context within the debate, I am thinking I probably have not missed anything and that you have just made a fool of yourself by equating rape to group sex.
You have been doing it for two pages now, so I'm not sure why the sudden attempt at back tracking.

what i was trying to say, is that when you engage in sexual practises with many people, and you use your celebraty status to do this, it is very easy for something like false rape claims and so on (such as what happend to john leslie, carlton cole and titus bramble) to be made. with this in mind, i believe it may be inappropriate for ferdinand to participate in such activities if he doesn't want, at some point in time, for his antics to either be made public or find himeself accused of a crime he may have not committed.
not to mention the videoing of the act (without the consent of the female parties involved) to be of the utmost stupidity if he didn't want his sexual activities to be pushed into the public domain.

But a false rape claim has not been made... indeed, that's because nobody was raped.Dr Sigmund Mohammad wrote:what i was trying to say, is that when you engage in sexual practises with many people, and you use your celebraty status to do this, it is very easy for something like false rape claims and so on (such as what happend to john leslie, carlton cole and titus bramble) to be made. with this in mind, i believe it may be inappropriate for ferdinand to participate in such activities if he doesn't want, at some point in time, for his antics to either be made public or find himeself accused of a crime he may have not committed.

I am surprised you are not suggesting the video was a wise move, if you think that celebrities engaging in er... sex (that shameful crime) are vulnerable to false claims. Any video would have proven that Mr Ferdinand engaged in consensual sex, behind closed doors, and nothing else.
And it still does not detract from the fact that when I suggested John Leslie having an accusation of rape put at his door is totally different from Rio Ferdinand engaging in legal, consensual sexual activity, you told me that they weren't really different.
That is why I think you are stupid.

what i said wasn't really different are the elements of the case itself.cat wrote:But a false rape claim has not been made... indeed, that's because nobody was raped.

both leslie and ferdinand have had details of their sexual activity revealed to the public, and as with leslie, this triggered a number of false claims from women.
although nobody was raped in this case (which i have already acknowledged several times), the very fact that this has been revealed to the public hypothetically may entice a number of women to make claims about ferdinand, false or otherwise, and in that sense there is not such a difference and could easily devistate his career.
this has happened several times with football players in the past, and it is something that they all should bare in mind.
Yes... BUT THEY ARE.Dr Sigmund Mohammad wrote:what i said wasn't really different are the elements of the case itself.
John Leslie was accused of rape
Rio Ferdinand had consensual sex with a woman
Are you now beginning to see how the 'elements of the case itself' ARE different, or are we going to carry on with this obscure line you're taking?
