Well it won't work on those installations of Windows using a handful of known pirated keys, let's put it that way.
Is this the same handful of known pirated keys which stops SP1 from installing, or have they added more to the list?
I believe its those and some others.

Although there is of course a fairly easy way to get round this. Ahem.

As I have a highly illegal copy of Microsoft Office 2003, will installing SP2 break this?

I am sick of buying Office. Just this one time I thought I would be illegal.

It won't touch office.

On a related note, Service Pack 1 for Office is out too from http://office.microsoft.com

It shouldn't break anything either.

Woohoo. Let my criminality continue.

On a sort of related but not note...

This is rather nice. I didn't know anything about it, but it makes Windows look a lot ''fresher''.

The first official 'theme' for Windows XP since its release, in case you were wondering. You will need to download something to decompress it - I think I used Win Rar from download.com - and just plonk it in the Windows > Resources > Themes folder.

I actually haven't got SP2 yet, though. It doesn't appear in my Windows Update list thing.

Well you could get the full installer from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

IIRC you need to be using the new version of windows update to get SP2 from there.

Royale btw is the new theme for Media Center 2005. I personally think it's foul.

Indeed. None too shabby, is it?

Shaded buttons look a bit naff though.

Any chance you could make the pixel size of that picture about 50% smaller? No-one likes vertical scrolling!

I love it, it's horizontal scrolling I hate.

What do you want, a medal?

Download.com is just a huge glorified catalogue of software files. It doesn't store any files itself, it just links to loads of others. Download SP2 from there, it'll still get it from Microsoft.
