So he misses a penalty and that makes him useless at penalties? Don't be stupid.
And yes I'm in a bad mood - so all the forum simpletons, and anybody wanting to say something stupid, make your getaway.
Normally I wouldn't say that but it isn't the first time that this has happened, it happened in the France game and I am certain it has happened in previous games before Euro '04, it's also the fact that he insists on taking them, taking the first one in the Penalty shoot out I wasn't bothered about, but during the game it can be incredibly annoying and can have bad consequences.
Though Owen's performance tonight was better than usual.
Still in bad mood.
I'm stabbing in the dark here but something tells me you're not a major football follower, and had Owen not scored that goal, you wouldn't have said that. Something also tells me you don't notice Beckhams "normal" penalties and "normal" free kicks and "normal" corners that tend to bail England out and ultimately set him apart from many players.

This is the *last* I'll have to hear about that bloody game. Euro 2004 has been irritating me no end and now the barbarians playing England are out, all of its airhead supporters will also shut up. You never know, they might quietly kill each other. Wouldn't that be a nice surprise?
Chris, have you no empathy?
I am not a football/rugby fan by nature, but I will always support England when they are playing.
It's one of the few occasions we are allowed to be proud of our people (and by that I mean all races, all religions, etc, as I do believe that our variety makes us better).
I saw white faces, black faces, brown faces, men and women, etc. supporting England - as Bobby Charlton says in the advert, "that's priceless."

Agree about the disallowed goal, but really England were played off the park tonight, and deserved to be beaten in the normal 90, they were camped in our half.
It's a shame, wonder how quickly the flags from the cars and bedroom windows will now disappear.
Indeed, they were all taken from the same spot; they should have been all taken from the other.
I agree, England did not really deserve to win because of their performance, but it doesn't take away from the fact that we were denied a place in the semis by that bloody referee, on multiple occasions.

Fucking bastard, he should have given free kicks in places, and he did not, the goal by Sol Campbell should have been allowed, it was not, and the other goal should have been used for the penalty due to the disintegrating pitch where they were.

Agreed, we played the same as we did against France - inviting the opposition onto us when we take an early lead, defending too deep etc etc. The focus'll be on the ref though, and rightly so.

Beckham needs a public shoothing IMO.
Sven needs to resign. He has now proved himself to be a shit manager.

Isn't football a poor excuse for "racial unity"?
I can think of a million better ways that all the races can "unite"
